Building Better Businesses builds Australian nano, micro and small enterprises through custom programs tailored for governments, NGOs, corporates, and individuals.

With 30% of small businesses in Australia generating less than $30,000 in revenue, these nano and micro enterprises often need extra support to grow and thrive. Many of these businesses are passion projects, craftspeople and makers, consultants, and budding entrepreneurs—typically solopreneurs.

At Building Better Businesses, we believe that with the right tools and experienced guidance, many nano and micro businesses can evolve into successful small businesses.

From one-off to year-long programs, we develop workshops, one-on-one mentoring, resource banks, online and in-person training, on topics from cultural competency to social media.

Building Better Businesses is an initiative by the team at IM, a creative agency based in Brisbane.

For over a decade, IM’s founder Leesa Watego, has been developing and delivering programs designed to support micro and small businesses. In 2024, the team consolidated these projects and resources into what is now known as Building Better Businesses.

Based in Brisbane, Queensland, our expertise stems from a blend of professional learning and over three decades of hands-on experience and the grind of building successful businesses. Our journey reflects our commitment to practical knowledge and real-world application.
